How to reach Ischia

Arriving in Naples by car, by train or by air you have to get either a ferry boat or a hydrofoil at one of the three ports: Naples, Mergellina or Pozzuoli.

Maritime connections between Ischia and the mainland depart and arrive on the island in three ports Ischia Porto, Casamicciola and Forio the last one is served by hydrofoils only during the summer. The average distance is 14 miles, 18 between the port of Naples and that of Ischia.

Crossing times are 90 minutes by ferry and about 40 by hydrofoil or fast vessel. During the summer vehicles from the Campania region are not allowed to disembark on the island.
